What DOES a Teacher Make? Taylor Mali Answers

teachers-plant-seedsIn 2009 I was one of the keynote speakers at the National Speakers Association's annual conference in Phoenix arizona. Also on the agenda was a most astonishing and brilliant poet/speaker/teacher named of Taylor Mali. We spent a lot of time backstage together talking, and I really liked him a lot. But when he did his presentation on stage, I was really beyond impressed. If you have ever been a teacher, or had a teacher who profoundly and positively impacted your life (I've had several), then you will print out this poem, make copies and share it with everyone you know. 1. Wow!  Read and shared.  Thanks Linda – this is brilliant!!!

  2. I still remember his speech. Wow. Wow. Wow. Thanks for reminding me Linda! Teachers need motivational speakers most of all!

  3. LOVE this Linda – especially having been raised by a teacher and as the mother who is spending $25,000 a year in college for my daughter to become one as well. Teachers are priceless, and I only wish our world recognized that more. Thank you for reminding all of us of their value. You know I'll be forwarding this to Mom and Chandler!

  4. Wow!  I love how his passion comes through in this piece!  I still remember the few teachers who made the biggest impact: Mrs. Borne (2nd), Mr. LaMonica (5th), and Mr. VanHale (10th).
