This Motivational Speaker Gets Real: I Signed A “Healthy Contract” with Myself

By my calendar it is mid March.  Two and a half months after January 1 when this motivational speaker started on her sincere list of resolutions.  If I’m being honest, and I am, I can’t even remember what was on that list except 3 things: go gluten free to see how it feels (I don’t think I have a gluten intolerance but with that sticky protein in so many products, it might make a positive difference in my weight, energy, sleep, hunger, etc.), stretch everyday,and drink wine only on the weekends.  I am here to report that I didn’t get one day in and a delectable gluten morsel found its way into my mouth, I keep forgetting to stretch, and  what’s a grilled lemony fish dinner on Wednesday without a crisp Pinot Gris?? So because I feel as if I’m not the only one who has fallen short of their New Year’s goals, I want to share with you a contract on health that I created a few years ago that always  comes in handy right about now.  I’ve re-read and signed, so I’m sending you to my website via the link below so you can read the stipulations and see if you would like to print and sign one for yourself!

  2. Thanks, Kelly!  There’s no problem with me connecting with my audience on this subject.  I guess my strength is climbing back on board a little faster than the other derailed passengers!  At least I can pass that along.

  3. Polly. Great post. I so connect with your contract — keeping it real, keeping it manageable. The only way I ever was able to take off  50 lbs. was by cutting myself slack when I slipped. Pure self-acceptance was the only way this motivational speaker got where she was going.
