The Worst Customer Service Comment EVER!

Now that I have all of my motivational speakers on communication's attention, please weigh in on this one:

I walk into my neighborhood dry cleaner with an armload of not-100%-cotton items and I notice that they have remodeled.

Me – "Oh! How nice your remodel looks!"

She – "You must not have been in for quite a while.  Welcome anyway."

Me – Speechless… but I think my expression spoke volumes because she was gushy nice for the rest of our transaction.

"Welcome ANYWAY??"  I hope that's a slip that she'll never make again. What do you think, one of the worst you've heard?  It is for me.

About

Motivational Speaker Polly Pitchford didn’t always know the phytochemical benefits of kale, in fact, those words weren’t even in her vocabulary 30 years ago. Neither did she see any reason to do jumping jacks on a cement surface for an hour. But all it took was a chance vegetarian cooking class and some high-energy music to open her eyes upon a whole new world of healthy living. For 30 years Polly has practiced, studied, taught, educated and lived a healthy lifestyle that makes her such a powerful speaker.

Polly’s down-to-Earth and humorous approach mirrors her own lifelong journey to lasting, positive changes. The audience walks away with tangible plans for improving their health and their lives through food, fitness and fun.

  1. Oh…..my….gosh. That is awful. Simply awful. I hope you set her straight!

  2. Welcome anyway? You slacker? You obviously pitiful customer who doesn't spend very much money with us. Welcome anyway? Wow. Linda Larsen motivational speaker on customer service – I'm taking referrals.

  3. Wells Fargo made a big faux pas with me. I was trying to deposit, yes do a straight deposit with my bank that I had been a loyal customer for years. I had left my purse in the car with my waiting Frenchie and didn't have ID. The 'customer service' agent wouldn't take my check! I tried to tell her 'hey, It's me! You know, the speaker girl…the one who comes in oh, let's say 3-4 x's a week for 5 years? Yes, Me!'  Nope.  No recollection of me.  Wow – needless to say, we switched banks.  It's the little things…

  4. My only challenge has been people moving too SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW for my taste. Snap it up, baby. I've got places to go.
