I’m so excited to be the keynote speaker on health and wellness for a group of Administrative Professionals later this month!  The meeting planner and I are coming up with ways to weave my message of healthy eating and moving more throughout the day and one idea was to have inspirational fitness quotes flashing on a PowerPoint slide presentation that runs before the conference starts and during the lunch time. 

I have found several funny ones and some powerful ones as well.  It’s hard to choose.Then I remembered that I have all of you as a most expert panel to help me decide!!!

Which ones make you chuckle and which ones make you say “whoa”?

  • Fitness happens at every size.
  • Don’t fear moving slowly forward, fear standing still.
  • You don’t ’have to go fast.. you just have to GO!
  • When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.
  • You’re only 1 workout away from a good mood.
  • “Never eat more than you can lift.”  Miss Piggy
  • “We don’t stop exercising because we grow old – we grow old because we stop exercising.”  Dr. Kenneth Cooper
  • When you get one more rep than last time, that’s fitness.
  • I workout because I love my body, not because I hate it.
  • No one ever drowned in sweat.
  • ‘Cuz you can’t get the butt you want by sitting on the one you have.
  • You will NEVER regret a workout.
  • No matter how slow you go you are still lapping everybody on the couch.

There are some great ones here, aren't there?  I would love to know the one or two that stand out to you as the best.  Thanks for your input!  Oh, and don't forget to "Get Up Offa That Thing" and move today!

  1. I LOVE them all!!!! I'm not sure I totally get the "I workout because I love my body…"  But every single one of all the others are great!  And what a fun idea to put the comments in a slide show! They will LOVE this – and YOU!!!

  2. Oh my gosh, I love them ALL. I can't narrow it down. I say use them all. And i do get the "I workout because I love my body" statement – it goes against the "I workout because I hate my body" statement and the idea that empowerment doesn't come from shame at our body image, but actually love for our body – every step of the way. Awesome idea Polly. Really awesome.  And you can put these quotes on Facebook – one at a time – and get some traction. Maybe even put them in a pretty colored box. ?

  4. Ditto. I really like You Don't Have to Go Fast and You'll Never Regret a Workout. I also like the positive spin mentioned above, as my weight loss only came from body love vs. shame. Congrats on going, Polly!!!


  5. I get them and love them all Polly!  And that audience is going to LOVE you!  Being me, I especially LOVE the Miss Piggy and the 'cuz you can't get the butt… lines.   I cannot wait to hear how much fun you had and how much they loved you!

    • I workout because I love my body, not because I hate it. (I get this too, like Kelly – it's about loving ourselves, letting go of the shame that we aren't where we want to be…yet!)
    • ‘Cuz you can’t get the butt you want by sitting on the one you have

    Also, if you put the quotes on cards, or pretty book marks, or workout reminder signs, don't forget your website or "For more fun, inspiring workout quotes, follow me at….."
