Sometimes The World Just Doesn’t Know You’re Here

As a motivational speaker, I talk to a lot of people who want to be speakers. And they all want to know how to get business. Valid question. And to that I have one simple reply: tell the world you are here. If you are sitting there wondering why you don't have any bookings, then I am asking you, "What are you doing to tell the world you are here?"

Tell the world that you are here – any way you know how.

And one way is an online press release. Not only does it get search engine attention, it gets the attention of press and might land you a TV interview. (I've had it happen.) Send out press releases whenever you want the world to know you have a message, a new product, a new event, a new thought – you name it.  And you can even send it for free online! Just Google "free press release". It's super easy! You'll probably find, like me, that doing one is the easy part – it's remembering to do one that's hard.  (Don't forget to include valuable keywords in the press release, with link backs to your website.)

So anyway…here's one of mine. Took me about fifteen minutes to create. This one has a few more bells and whistles (more links and video) because I put a little money on it this time. So have fun, and go tell the world you are here! We're waiting!

  1. Hey Kelly this is FABULOUS!! It's great for motivational speakers – and for ANYONE who wants to get noticed!  I am going to give it a try. I don't have a clue how to do it – but hey – that's never stopped me before!  Thanks so much!

  2. I'm right there with Linda!  What a fantastic idea!  Free, you say?  I'm in.  My way of remembering is printing out the web address and push-pinning it to the bulliten board right in front of my computer.  Press Release: "Motivational Speakers from have best year ever!!!"

  3. I'm sorry I never shared this little secret. I figured you knew. Press releases are an AWESOME way to get search engine attention. Google loves them because press releases are all about current content. So find reasons to create them – for every event you do, new product you create, anything you can think of to tell the world. We try to make it a practice to do a press release for every event. I forget. But it's a GREAT practice. And if you google "free press release" you will find lots of sites that offer the service free. And most of them will offer extra services you can buy – like sending out a premium press release with links and video.  But most of ours we do free. Occasionally we will pay for premium – but never more than $49. I won't spend $300 on press releases. Maybe it's a good idea, but we are working on shoestring budget. It's a great idea for motivational speakers. And don't forget your keywords!

  4. Another fabulous piece of advice to all motivational speakers!
