  1. EXCELLENT article, Kelly! I LOVE motivational speakers who share their fears and doubts (showing us that they are JUST like us) and THEN share some ideas they have discovered on how to get over those fears and doubts. Right on!

  2. Thanks Linda. I happen to think that motivational speakers (or anybody who is trying impact someone else) have far more impact when they take off the “face” and show us who they are. At least a little.

  3. Okay, “face” off. I just read your entire article to my assistant while moaning, “How is she consistently able to write such incredibly funny, heart-felt articles?” I mean, the spray tan line? Incredible! This motivational speaker had to talk herself back down using my Dare Not to Compare approach. You are truly in a race all your own Kelly and winning big.

  4. Thanks Colette! But I didn’t write it. I took it off another motivational speaker’s site who had a bunch of cool posts. I’ve always liked her better, so I’ve just been cutting and pasting her articles. She’s got a cute hairstyle too – I think I’ll try that one next. And her graphics are great! I think I’ll copy one or two of those…..Can you say single white female?

Just kidding. And don’t ever put yourself down. Your articles are just as funny and just as heartfelt as you are in person. You are just about one of the funniest people I know – without even trying to be – and about the most sincere too. So rock on sister. You are WONDERFUL just the way you are.

  5. Wonderfully written Kelly! It’s not just motivational speakers who dip in and out of these traps, is it? It’s everybody who struggles with who they are, where they’re going, and how they “be”. I know for certain that your wise perspective will help me through my next self-made trap. Thanks for your insight, Kelly!
