Motivational Speaker Gets Validation That Change Is The New Normal

As a motivational speaker, I teach and believe in the power of being different. I ran across another great blog post today (shared below) on the one skill that entrepreneurs should have today – the ability to evolve.  While it’s not the same way I would say it (much better actually) it still speaks to my point.

If you want to STAND UP AND STICK OUT in a crowded market, you must have that something different that is relevant. If you are stuck in your comfort zone doing the same thing you were doing ten years ago and sticking to that if it kills you – well, it will kill you. If there’s one thing I’m learning in this day and age, it’s that CHANGE IS THE NEW NORMAL. Technology is forcing change on us so fast it makes my head spin. You can complain and fight it – but it’s not going away. The way your client does business, finds you, receives and processes information, takes in information, likes to buy – is changing at a rapid pace. If you don’t change with it – if you don’t evolve – you will be left behind.

Who knows, perhaps you are already irrelevant and you just don’t know it.

I hope you enjoy this blog post as much I did:

  1. You know it’s funny Kelly – I speak about getting out of your comfort zone and yet, after reading your blog and the blog you referenced, I think I’ve been in my own comfort zone too! Time for this motivational speaker to practice what she preaches!

  2. Kelly, you are right on. It doesn’t matter if you’re a motivational speaker or a student about to graduate from college, we must continue to morph and grow. I’m getting to put this into action with my new I-Phone — completely different than my Blackberry and filled with so many more ways to be efficient. Morph-on!

  3. Whoa. So this guy REALLY makes me stop and think about my current career as a motivational speaker.  He also is validating the heck out of me.  I have tried SO hard at various times in my career to “pick a lane” and stay there – and dang it – I get really really bored in that one straight, predictable lane.  He is SO right on.
