I’m So Happy For You…Truth!

happy for youContinuing the happiness theme I wrote about last week, here are two more tidbits to up your happiness quotient.

  1. Be happy for others! Research shows we feel happier after listening to a friend’s good news, so drop any jealousy and celebrate their success. I believe jealousy is a signal to buckle down and get busy with your own dream. Eliminate your excuses and take action.
  2. Find and be a friend at work.  According to a Gallup World Poll, the biggest predictor of happiness at work isn’t how big your office is or company perks like an on-site gym. Rather, it’s having a best friend you can call on for support, proving, once again, that connection with others is what ultimately brings us a sense of well-being.

Who wants to share a recent success so I can be happy for you?!

  1. Yay! Fabulous! GREAT post! And okay – here's my success that I can ask you to be happy for me about: I've been living with this remodel situation (see my post about how I HATE living with disorganization and chaos) and – by using my friend Polly as my support team (see your above post) I took a deep breath (as per her suggestion) and was able to just BE with the mess! A REAL breakthrough for me! High Five Me!

  2. Uh oh – today's not the day to celebrate my success if you read my latest post (http://kellyswanson.net/2013/08/30/health-and-wellness/motivational-speakers-journey-to-a-healthier-ever-after-breaking-habits-versus-actions

Then again – maybe it is a success. Because I choose NOT to let the pothole get me down. BINGO!

And, Colette, you are one of those truly rare women who knows how to be genuinely happy for others. I am so blessed to have you as a friend. You really inspire me.

  3. Thanks Colette – you know I had some trouble with this for a long time.  You helped me not only with your kind words but by your example. And, the good news is, it works! High Five back to you my friend!!!!
