I’m Going to the Dentist! Yippee!

Even motivational speakers have to go the dentist but mine is…. well, she is different.

Her name is Jill and yes, she is beautiful and talented and extremely accomplished, but I happen to know that she, like all of us, has had her share of difficulties and problems.   She doesn’t talk about them, but knowing where she grew up and what the circumstances were, I suspect there were some very challenging.

And do you know how she responds EVERY time I walk into her office and ask her how she is?  She says, with genuine sincerity, “I’m so grateful.”  And then she smiles and mentions a few things she’s grateful about and I feel myself a little bit transformed in that moment.  No wonder I LOVE going to the dentist!!!

Why not try it!  Just for this week.  Every time someone asks you how you are, respond with, “I’m grateful.”  You’ll be surprised at how great you begin to feel.

From your motivational speaker, Linda Larsen, who is genuinely grateful for SO many things!

  1. Thank you Linda. Today I am grateful for you.

  2. And this motivational speaker is grateful to the both of you! I get to visit my Dental Hygienist Thursday who is THE most punctual woman I’ve met in a doctor’s office. I’m grateful for her punctuality and her desire to aggressively go after my tartar and plaque!

  3. Yet another great idea to put to use Linda!  I speak gratitude daily, but only silently in my head.  Can’t wait to speak it out loud when asked, “How are you?”  I might at first reply, “I’m grateful to be fine, thank you!”  Always a work in progress.

  4. Linda – I think without gratitude, I’d be in a very dark place.  Gratitude helps me stay focused on the positive and see the positive around me.  I’m grateful for friends like you for sure!!!
