Once upon a time (in 1983) there were two girlfriends named Polly P and Linda Lee who lived right next door to each other in cute little houses on a tree-lined street. And as good friends do, they borrowed things from each other regularly. So before going out and buying any specialty kitchen item, like a specific cookbook or a food dehydrater they would check with each other. If one of them owned that item, they just made a deal to continue to borrow from each other.
One day Linda Lee said, "Hey Polly P! Since our houses are so close together – only about 20 feet apart – wouldn't it be great if we could build a Magic Hallway from your house to mine? And we could keep all our cool stuff on shelves in there and that way, if we needed anything, we could just go into the hallway and get it."
And they laughed. And they talked often about their Magic Hallway and all the things they would keep in it. They imagined how cool it would be and how much money they would save in buying pots and pans and cookbooks and stuff. And Polly said, "Oh! And if it was raining and we needed something, we'd never get wet because we wouldn't have to go outside!" And they laughed again.
A few years later, Linda Lee moved away. She hugged her friend goodbye and they promised they would be friends forever.
Fast forward 30 years to September 1, 2013 when Polly P, undergoing some really big life changes, moved into Linda Lee's guest apartment that is adjacent to her main house. And yes, the apartment has it's own front and back door, but there also is this…um…Magic Hallway, exactly 20 feet long, connecting Polly P's house, to Linda Lee's house. And what do you think is in the hallway? You got it. Pots, pans, steamers, an ice cream maker, juicers, crock pots, an espresso maker, cook books and, yes, a dehydrater. It is a Magic Hallway – just like the one that they imagined all those years ago.
Coincidence? Maybe. But they don't think so. They will tell you that when you use the power of your mind to create a mental equivalent of what you want – when you clearly visualize it in rich, colorful detail – you are planting some powerful seeds. And when you visualize yourself IN the scene, experiencing what it FEELS like to have it right now, you are increasing the odds that those seeds will grow into what you have imagined – or something even greater.
So what do you want to create in your life? What miraculous, amazing things? You have everything you need to make it a reality. Everything. Including two motivational speakers, Polly P and Linda Lee, who will cheer you on! Oh, and if they don't answer, check in the Magic Hallway.
