Exercise Pep Talk for Today

It doesn’t feel that way in the beginning, but every time you do those killer exercises – pushups, lunges, squats – you’re building stronger muscles.  This happens secretly and in a way the scale won’t recognize, but know that deep in your body, your muscles are growing.  Deep in your cells, your energy is increasing.  Your heart is pumping more blood to your muscles and your body is becoming more efficient at burning fat!  Nice list!

The moment you really feel your own strength is the moment you commit to exercise for the long run.  To get there, however, you have to keep doing it.

Remember: If you’re just starting out, do only as many as you can until you feel fatigued.  Rest 30 seconds and go again…until fatigue.  That’s it!  Repeat tomorrow!

From your motivational speaker, Polly Pitchford, who keeps doing it because she likes the rewards!

Motivational Speaker Polly Pitchford didn’t always know the phytochemical benefits of kale, in fact, those words weren’t even in her vocabulary 30 years ago. Neither did she see any reason to do jumping jacks on a cement surface for an hour. But all it took was a chance vegetarian cooking class and some high-energy music to open her eyes upon a whole new world of healthy living. For 30 years Polly has practiced, studied, taught, educated and lived a healthy lifestyle that makes her such a powerful speaker.

Polly’s down-to-Earth and humorous approach mirrors her own lifelong journey to lasting, positive changes. The audience walks away with tangible plans for improving their health and their lives through food, fitness and fun.

  1. Another inspirational moment from Polly! Time for another set of planks!

  2. Polly, I think I’m a slow learner but I do believe that if I read your blog every day, and then did what you suggest, I would be in great shape. I KNOW that you do influence many of the choices I make And I’m noticing a difference in my strength and my level of energy. I am just hoping that all the good choices I made for the last several months bought me some slack for the last 6 days in Paris. I wash my face with Brie cheese every night. Now THERE’S an image for you.

  3. Thanks Polly – I have been dong hot pilates for about 9 months and although I feel like I’ve made progress, I still watch the clock – it’s an intense hour of stretching, push ups, mountain climbers, upward dog, downward dog, sweat sweat sweat.  Today when I go to class (positively projecting me going again today) I will focus on how much stronger I am than when I started in October.  At least the nausea is gone and I don’t get dizzy much anymore!!!
