Working in the business of motivational speaking has taught me something about what clients buy when they are looking for a motivational keynote speaker. They buy your personality – maybe even more than what you speak about – which is the same thing THOUSANDS of other speakers speak about too. The only thing different is YOU and how you deliver it. Your personality.
Yet many speakers are still out there selling and marketing what they do, not realizing that who they are is just as, if not more, important.
People buy from people they like. They hang out with people they like. To like you, they have to know you. Not what you know, but YOU.
So here’s the million dollar question:
When they go to your website, what do they find? The personality? Or a list of things you offer?
How do you sell a personality in something as impersonal as a computer?
What is your personality?
Okay, that’s more like three questions.
I don’t have the answers. But I’m pretty sure I’m asking the right questions.
And here’s the good news. You already have a personality. It came with you. It’s free. You just have to learn to emphasize it, exaggerate it, pitch it, and own it.
And somewhere along the way, I think you will find your brand.
