The phrase “ice queen” often conjures up images of a cold hearted female with a frosty demeanor. Not true for world-champ ice sculptor Heather Brice, who originally worked with bronze and wood. What three takeaways can we learn from this ice queen to fire up our careers?
1. Give Away Your Gifts. Brice originally helped out an Alaskan ice sculptor during the holidays. Although giving to get is never the goal, giving often leads to getting. The speed at which you can create monumental displays in days was a turn on for Brice, and she rediscovered her joy. What is your strength or gift to give another?
2. Ask with Passion. Brice approached the sculptor about joining his four-man team for that year’s world championship. To quote her, “I begged him!” They went on to win first place, and that passion eventually led to another passion. Brice married the sculptor. What will you ask for to move you closer to your passions?
3. Risk Relocating. Currently Brice’s job involves carving and maintaining sculptures at Alaska’s Aurora Ice Museum. Who knew such a place existed? Do you need to make a move to move you closer to your goals, dreams and desires?
