Scott McKain made me stop and think in his insightful post about "deservability."
When the gorgeous Cameron Russell remaked that people shouldn't try to be like her because she did nothing to deserve her good looks, most people thought, "Oh, she's being so modest. Isn't that attractive." And even Scott applauds her for her humility, but he suggests we look a little deeper into this idea of deservability. We might want to rethink how we use it as well.

Kudos to Cameron for sharing her thoughts on a career that almost every little girl thinks about at some point. Thank you for sharing Scott McKain's excellent (one of my favorite motivational speakers) blog about deserving what we're dealt. We all have strengths, inward or outward, that we need to tap into and use in an enriching way for ourselves, our finances, our circle of loved ones and others who we chance to influence along the way.
I just LOVE Scott's post. One of the best I've read in a long time. Many of us are carrying around a backpack filled with bitterness because we didn't get what someone else got – as if we deserve to have the same thing as our neighbor. I think that's why God advised us not to covet another's possessions or gifts – not because He wantd to be mean, but because He knew that it would hurt us, living a life feeling entitled to have the same thing that my richer neighbor has – or my pretty neighbor – or my talented neighbor. When I spend a life focused on what you have that I don't have, then I totally lose sight of what I have been given. And if we all got what we truly deserved – well, I won't go there. Thanks for sharing this post Linda! Scott Mckain is a rocking motivational speaker!
